Korean Beauty Haul: Missha and Tony Moly

Hi, everyone! I know it's been a while, but Daysia and I promise that 2016 will be full of posts galore. Sorry for the wait.

I recently bought some products from two of my favorite Korean beauty brands,  Missha and Tony Moly, so I thought I would share a few thoughts on my purchases. From Missha, I bought BB Cream, an eyebrow pencil, and brow setting gel; from Tony Moly, I bought a cooling eye stick, cleansing balm, nail polish, and face masks.

MISSHA

Missha had an insane Cyber Monday sale which I took full advantage of. (They have sales pretty often, so I recommend signing up for their newsletter.) Their products are already quite affordable, and you get free shipping when your order is $40 or more.

Complexion Coordinating BB Cream in Honey Beige // $15 (purchased for $9)

I thought this BB cream was an absolute steal. Missha's website listed this BB cream as one of its must-haves, and for good reason. After using thick, creamy foundation for the past few months, this light formula is almost refreshing. It doesn't provide full coverage, but for me, it's perfect for everyday use, covering blemishes with a natural finish.

My biggest complaint with Korean beauty products is the lack of variety in skin color, especially for people with darker skin. However, I lucked out, because honey beige was just the right color for me.

Verdict: 4/5 stars

Perfect Eyebrow Styler in Gray Brown // $7 (purchased for $4)

I'm super pleased with this product! It applies well and the color matches my brows perfectly. Missha's eyebrow pencil blows my $20 Urban Decay eyebrow pencil out of the water.

Verdict: 5/5 stars

The Style Color Setting Brow Mascara in Cacao Brown // $11 (purchased for $6)

I've never used brow mascara/gel before, so I don't really have anything to compare Missha's product to. However, I'll say that this brow mascara does a really good job of keeping my eyebrow hairs in place, and the color is very natural. The applicator has two sides--one flat, one more curved--which allows you to get all the hairs.

Verdict: 4/5

All in all, I'm extremely happy with my purchases at Missha, and I highly recommend shopping here. If you're worried about international shipping, the products arrived within two weeks and in perfect condition.

TONY MOLY

My friends and I took a trip to Japantown the other day, and I was shocked to see a Tony Moly store open! Tony Moly is known for their adorable packaging (as you'll see in a second), but their products are top-notch, as well. Their website provides free shipping for orders over $50. Some products aren't sold on their website for some reason, but I was able to find them on sites like Amazon and YesStyle; Sephora and Urban Outfitters sell some of their products, too.

Panda's Dream So Cool Eye Stick // $12 at Sephora

I seriously could not resist the panda packaging. Too cute. You rub it around your eyes and it instantly cools and moisturizes the skin; I apply this in the morning when my eyes are wrinkly and baggy, then keep it on hand for when my eyes feel dry throughout the day. The eye stick is a bit pricey, but I haven't found anything cheaper with similar effect, so I'm sticking with the panda.

Verdict: 4/5

Cotton Candy nail polish in Orange Milk Tea // $5 at Kpoptown

I'm so in love with this nail polish. The muted orange color is exactly what I've been looking for, and it applies super well. It's a quick dry polish with a semi-matte finish, and it's ready to go in two coats; it took me less than ten minutes to paint both hands. The other colors are gorgeous too, so I'm definitely stocking up.

Verdict: 5/5

Peach Punch Sherbet Cleansing Balm // $26 at Urban Outfitters

Again, I fell for the cute packaging (although many people have mentioned its likeness to certain body parts). I usually use Neutrogena face wipes and face wash to clean my face and take off my makeup, but I've found that it dries out my skin. However, this cleansing balm removes makeup with ease and leaves my face feeling super soft. Plus, it smells like peaches.

Verdict: 4/5

I'm Real Face Mask Sheets // $7.50 for 2 at Sephora

In store, these masks were selling at $10 for 7 masks--a nice break from the pricier items I bought that day. They come in various flavors with different purposes, as you can see. So far, I've only used the makgeolli skin purifying mask (far right), and I'm already enamored. The package said it would make my skin "glowing and radiant," and I can certainly vouch for that. I can't wait to use the rest of the masks.

Verdict: 5/5

That's it for this haul! I'm extremely happy with my purchases and hope you guys get the chance to try out these products. Thanks for reading, and I wish you all a happy new year. 감사함니다!

With love,
Dana
